George Harrison never honoured his IOUs

He may have earned millions as the member of the iconic rock band 'The Beatles', but it seems that George Harrison was not so good at parting with his money, for it was recently revealed that he never honoured a debt he incurred in 1961. According to Contactmusic, Harrison fell short of 34 dollars when he was buying merchant seaman Ivan Hayward's black Gretsch Duo Jet electric guitar from him in 1961. So, he wrote Hayward an IOU for the amount, and promised to pay him back. However, the legendary Beatles guitarist, who passed away in 2001, never honoured his promise, and to this day Hayward still holds onto the IOU note signed by Harrison.Harrison used the electric guitar in the album, 'Cloud Nine'.

Funny. I daresay that the IOU note is worth substantially more to collectors than the number of dollars written on it, however!
