Ringo emotional at Beatles show

Former Beatle Ringo Starr admitted he felt "emotional" after attending the premiere of a new musical about the Fab Four.

Starr and fellow surviving Beatle Sir Paul McCartney attended the first performance of 'Love' in Las Vegas along with the widows of John Lennon and George Harrison - Yoko Ono and Olivia Harrison.

Starr and McCartney were heavily involved in the development of the show, which features 130 Beatles songs and covers the period from their early days in the 1940s to the height of Beatlemania in the 1960s and beyond.

And Starr said watching the show brought back a lot of memories, telling the BBC: "It was emotional because two of us aren't there. So it really comes home when you're watching this."

Ono, who was also involved in the production, added: "All this time when I was working on this show in the rehearsals, I thought 'oh, John should be here,'

"That's the only thing that I regret, the fact that he's not here, because he would have enjoyed it so much."
